Aubrie's 24 Week Checkup

Yesterday I went in for my 24 week prenatal checkup. My blood pressure was normal (I don't know the number, though...), and I was able to hear Aubrie's heartbeat, which was 148 bpm. It is such a cool thing to hear their hearts beat so fast! It doesn't even seem possible! I did find out that I am a little bit dehydrated, but I was on the road yesterday from 7:30am to 7pm, without much to drink. I really need to get better at taking a water bottle with me when I leave the house.

Dr. Scott said that everything else looked good, though. I did find out that I will be taking my glucose test at our next visit. I also found out that we get another ultrasound, which should be fun after drinking all of that sugar! We have been a little bit spoiled during this pregnancy, because this was the first visit that we actually did NOT have an ultrasound. Plus, we get one at 28 and 36 weeks, as well as the 4-D ultrasound that we want to schedule. It's just so cool getting to see them acting like babies before we get to meet! I can feel her moving all the time now, but it's cool to actually see what they are doing during all that movement!

All in all, everything is going well with this pregnancy! I love being pregnant, and can't wait to meet our little girl!

Halloween Party

This morning Evan went to his first Halloween Party!

After eating breakfast, it was time to get into his costume and head off to the party. Well, I thought because we had already been in the costume once before for pictures, that getting him into his costume this morning would be a snap! Not true!!! I almost started laughing while trying to get him into his costume because it was just not happening. I would try to put it on, and he would promptly take it off before I could snap something together. Talk about growing up and becoming able to choose for himself!

I was finally able to get him into the costume; he never did stop pulling on his elephant ears to try and take them off. I'm glad I thought ahead and found a costume with a snap on headpiece! Then we headed out to the home of Jackson Sylvio, a little boy in Evan's playgroup.
Evan can be very shy sometimes, and it took a little while for him to warm up with the other kids at the party. But he eventually fell right in with the others, and enjoyed playing with all the fun toys there. I may have even found some great Christmas present ideas! After a few minutes, there seemed to be even more kids and parents there, which created a little bit of friction between kids and the toys they wanted to play with. I think it was good for Evan to be around other children, though, and learn to share with them.
mmm....my first gummy worm! It made me laugh!

...and I LOVED my first juice box!

aaaahhhhh

I love my cousin, Aiden! aka, Superman!

And the funniest part of all was when we tried to get everyone together for a picture in their costumes. Here are some pictures of the event, along with a video which I couldn't resist taking just to show the fun chaos!

After the party, April & JJ, Alia & Aiden, and Evan and I went to meet our friend Brandi. It was right at Evan's naptime, but I took a chance on him either being tired and relaxed, or the opposite and just leaving. It worked out, and we were able to stay and visit until around 2. Evan was such a trooper, and acted great the whole time! When we went to leave, I picked him up from his highchair, and dun dun dun... there was poop everywhere! I mean, this was the poop of poops! EVERYWHERE!! I carried him to the back of the van where it took me many long minutes to clean it up. I need to go and wash his costume as I sit here and think of it again... I was thinking of all of you and decided not to take any pictures of this part of our day!
----------
Chris has his Twin Creeks MS Fall Concert tonight, which I can't wait to see because I love hearing his band each year. He is such a hard worker, and takes his job so seriously working with the kids, that I can't help but be proud of him each time I hear his band play! I love you honey, and think you're the greatest!

Tomorrow morning, my Mom is driving up early to babysit Evan while Chris and I judge region band tryouts in Tomball. Then after a long day of listening to the same music over and over and over and over, we will meet my Mom and Evan at our church for a fun Halloween evening! It will be a busy weekend, but we wouldn't trade it for anything!

My New Cousin

I just got an email with precious pictures of my cousin Christine's new baby, Hailey Nicole. Isn't she precious?!

Scrapbook Retreat

I got back last night from my second scrapbook retreat, and had a blast! It was so nice to get away for a few days to a quiet, country bed and breakfast, and be surrounded by people who enjoy doing the things that I do. It was nothing but beautiful scenery, great food, watching movies, listening to music, eating junk food, and scrapping late into the night...so much fun!

Here are some pics from my trip:
Sunrise on the farm

The building we stayed in to scrap. It had tables all setup for us when we got there, and murphy beds that folded down when we were ready to scrap. It was nice to just get out of bed, stay in my pj's, and start scrapping!
My friend Judy is in this picture somewhere...I think she was cold! Of course, being pregnant I was totally comfy with the cold nights.

This was my scrap station...

...and this was the whole room! Full of TONS of fun scrapbooking stuff!

Some of the yummy food we were served while on the farm. Complete with delicious quiche, New Orleans French Toast, some kind of tart, and raspberry butter!

Here are just some beautiful pictures from around the farm:
I asked my friend Judy to take a picture of me in front of some of the pretty flowers. I feel like I haven't taken as many pictures of my belly during this pregnancy, and couldn't resist the beautiful scenery!

Finally, we stopped in Brenham on the way home for lunch at this place called Must be Heaven. It was an ice cream parlor on one side, and a deli on the other. The food was great!

Old McDonald's Farm

On Friday, Evan and I went to Old McDonald's Farm in Humble. We went with some ladies from our Sunday School play group, and had a blast! It was such a beautiful day to go, with clear skies and a cool breeze. Except for the bees at lunch, it was the perfect day!
First thing, we went on a fun train ride before the school buses arrived. Oh, and before the train broke down for a while! Evan kept waving hello to everyone, even after we got off the train! He does that in the grocery store, too...at the top of his lungs! I love it!

Evan LOVED feeding the ducks! I have another video where you can see him putting corn through the fence, but it was too long for the blog. It was so cute to see him quacking back at the ducks!

On the way to see the horses, we saw some deer that were just roaming around in an open area, and stopped to feed them from our feed bags. Those deer were not afraid to go for the food they wanted, that's for sure! I think April's camera got a little nip as well! One of the deer just stuck his nose in my bag and wouldn't let go! Evan was a little scared of the deer.

After the ducks and deer, we took the kids to ride the horses! I wasn't sure if they would let Evan ride, but they did. Someone led the horse around while I was able to walk next to Evan and hold onto him. As soon as I sat him on the horse, he said, "Down!" and tried to get off, but the horse started moving right away and he was ok after that. I think he thought it was cool! I tried to take a picture of him on the horse after we were finished, but he would only look at the man hiding behind the horse holding him on the saddle and not the camera!

Evan also really enjoyed watching the chickens. I kept trying to get him to go look at some of the other animals as well, but we ended up staying to watch the chickens for a while!

After lunch with the killer bees, where I had to leave behind a snack cup because the bees were going for our Honey Nut Cheerios, we headed over to the pumpkin patch where Evan got to choose his own pumpkin to take home! He started with the small ones...
...and then found the bigger ones!

...but ended up choosing a small pumpkin to take home with him.

Finally, I tried to take Evan's picture sitting on the hay bails, but there was a group of like 50 children trying to get situated to take a large group picture together. So while they were still placing their children, I just sat Evan down on the side behind a pumpkin to take his picture. It was ok for a second, and then he figured out he could throw his small pumpkin every time I tried to get him to look at the camera and smile...I love how you can see his eyelashes on the last picture. So handsome!

Aubie

I caught Evan saying "Aubie" on video yesterday, and couldn't resist sharing because it's just so cute! Enjoy!

Here are also some recent pictures of us just doing our normal thing.
