Valley Trip

This past weekend, our family took a trip to visit Chris' family in Harlingen and Raymondville. It was really nice to get away as a family, and visit family that we don't get to see very often. We tried to leave early on Friday morning so that the kids would sleep in the car, but that backfired on us as Evan only slept for 20 minutes during the whole 7 hour drive. When we got there, we drove directly to Harlingen to visit Chris' amazing grandmother. We were there for a little bit, but then we took Grandma Anita with us to Edinburg to visit Chris' sister, Elke, and her 4 amazing girls, Kylee, Kailynn, Kyra, and Kenzy. We had a great dinner, and a fantastic time playing Guitar Hero (we WILL own that one day!).

Then we checked into our hotel back in Raymondville, and it was great! It was so cute to see Evan jumping on the bed and excited to be there! It was worth the extra money to have the room to ourselves, and to make it feel like a real family vacation.
(Aubrie found her thumb on this trip!)

Saturday was spent in Raymondville, where we celebrated Kyra's 4th birthday! It was so cute to see her get sooooo excited over an oreo cookie ice cream cake from Dairy Queen and open her presents. The kids also spent time swimming in the pool (Evan even got in with some arm floaties for a few minutes before wanting out), watching the Disney channel on tv, and playing together. It was a really good visit.
(We bought face paint to play with the kids; Evan was a tiger, and Chris wanted a unibrow with "goatee."
